Salifert Test Kits

Salifert Test Kits

I’ve used Salifert test kits (Calcium, Alkalinity, Magnesium, Phosphate and Nitrate) for my reef aquarium for that past couple of years.  Each kit has an expiration date but I recently found out that the expiration date may be a little too far out.  Most Salifert test kits have a couple of year shelf life but I think I will stick with a 1-1.5 year period.  Some of my new Salifert test kits gave me different (better) results than my older, on the verge of expiring, kits did. I feel the Salifert kits work a lot better than other test kits I’ve used in the past (API, quick dip, etc.). The color readings of the Salifert tests just seem to be more distinctive and when compared to other kits, they seem more accurate. JMHO 🙂
